I'm the guest speaker in Harrow on the Hill on November 11th. Contact me for details if you'd like to attend. 19:00 - 21:30
Whether I'm working as a trainer or Life Coach with Chief execs, senior managers from national charities, one of my goals is to develop collaborative relationships that are mutually motivating and potentially inspiring.
Although it took me a long time to realise it, that is what I have aspired to for most of my life; to serve such a purpose.
I help people to remember who they are and become the best they can be.
It is still only a few months since my friend Grace told me about Success University and the more I read, Googled, listened to and discussed the principles, the seminars, the CDs and DVDs, the more obvious it was that Success University would support my aspirations and my purpose.
One of the major lessons that I’ve learnt from talking to people, especially people I know, is how ready people are to discount, dismiss and deny anything that undermines their limiting beliefs, even when those limiting beliefs keep them trapped in dire straits, dreary jobs, dreadful relationships and Victim consciousness. So far so bad, and what is now so very clear to me is that many people, not least some of people I know, either through concern or fear – for themselves or for me - or they lack the desire or vision or imagination or energy or time to build on their own dreams and aspirations, let alone support other people in theirs.
This has been a vitally important lesson for me! Painful, too, but worth it because it has made a significant difference in the way I approach and respond to people.TakeSuccessUniversity for example. Why am I telling you about it? Simply because I realised that sharing what I'm passionate about is one of the quickest ways to find people who aren't interested. want to turn their dreams in to reality, who want to co-create a supportive team, who want to discover more about who we are and what we are capable of and to build on any insights. There are also, probably mostly, people who will respond on the suspicious assumption that anyone involved in a business likeSU, including me, must be trying to con people! I minded at first, it took me by surprise that people who know me would assume that I lacked either the integrity or the intelligence to make a good choice about a good opportunity. Some of them, as I mention a bit further on, are so sure that they know what’s what; they don’t even click on a link to check out the difference between the facts and their fantasy
Success University helps me to reach out to more people and offer far more than I could manage otherwise. Given that I love what I do, that's a real bonus. What I'm getting from the CDs, seminars, etc, is the best thing of all, though, not least because it is great to be in the company of people who know that we are all and always on a journey.
There are over 100,000 Success University students in over 170 countries currently benefitting from SU's online courses and tele-seminars, CDs, DVDs, and face-to-face contact. It is an ongoing feast of information, knowledge and support for Personal Development that shows itself inLeadership Qualities

financial Success
and more...Dubious at first, even suspicious, my curiosity got the better of my scepticism, and I decided to explore further. Here's what happened for me...Despite my initial prejudice, it seemed worth a look just for the sake of Grace (see below).
In the 30+ years, I've been helping people develop their personal confidence and professional competence, I have developed a number of models to inform and enhance the quality, process and outcome of workshops, training, coaching or other experiences that I have created or shared with many thousands of people.
Obviously SU is not for every one, including me when I was first dragged along to an SU meeting with Grace. I went because Grace has been a good and dear friend for more than 30 years, so it seemed worth a look.
My initial mental block was that, although the personal development programme totally resonates with my beliefs and values, Success University is also a direct sales/ home business/ Multi-Level Marketing company.
Like many people, my ignorance made me prejudiced and I immediately thought, "PYRAMID SELLING"! Unlike many people, checking out my assumption - enabled me to chuck out my prejudice - and I found out that: Multi Level Marketing, which is legal (think Amway, Herbal Life, Tupperware, Avon, etc), is often mistakenly confused with Pyramid selling, which is a definite no-no! Googling both was very helpfull, certainly I am better informed.
I now know thatPyramid schemes are non-sustainable business models that involve the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, without any product or service being delivered. Most pyramid schemes take advantage of confusion between genuine businesses and complicated but convincing money making scams. The essential idea behind each scam is that the individual makes only one payment, but is promised exponential benefits from other people as a reward.
Reassured, I attended another Success University meeting, near Harrow in North London, with presentations on the personal development and the earning potential, the down-line system and how to network, and an excellent guest speaker, Nathan Goldberg, whose company - Cows That Dance – explains how to stand out from the crowd.
Not every one wants to stand out from the crowd of course; being noticed makes their skin crawl! Many prefer invisibility and anonymity. However, increasing numbers of people are very interested in making significant change in their work, their life, and their sense of self. About 40% of the 100,000 SU students, are also interested in developing their financial skills, especially in increasingly difficult times. Fed up with a job that, at best, keeps the wolf from the door, some folk are keen to find alternative ways of creating a better work/home balance, and having a good quality of life as well as a decent standard of living. Sure, for some people, making money is all that matters. For others, making do is all they do and what they'll settle for. For either of those sets of people, some personal development will probably make a big difference.
If you think the people involved are only interested I making money, at least check out your assumptions. Or don’t! If all you’d want from joining is making money, you could probably do that, but I think you’d not do too well if you had no concern for or interest in the other people in your network.
The most convincing and compelling thing for me about SU is the calibre of people involved with Success University. The Faculty includes the likes of: Ken Blanchard: quotes Jim Rohn: quotes, Napoleon Hill: quotes Les Brown: quotes Anthony Robbins: quotes Dale Carnegie: quotes and many others whose books have inspired me or whose workshops have enlightened me over the years. Indeed, I have already revisited some of those books and tapes whilst researching SU and am enjoying the reminders and refreshers along with the new ideas I'm hearing about. I have neither the inclination nor the intention to hard-sell or persuade anyone to sign up. However, I do want to bring this to people's attention and share an excellent resource and a great opportunity.
If you've read this far, thank you. If you started with a closed mind and none of the above resonates with you, there is nothing to gain by wasting any more of your time. So, if you’ve read this far and already created a list of reasons why this is not for you, this is probably as good a place as any to stop reading.
I wish you well in all that you do. If, on the other hand, you are a bit doubtful but intrigued go to www.craftylistening.successuniversity.com/new which is my page on the SU site, fill in and send me your contact details. (All students get their own page, which opens when we log on)
While you're on the SU site, you can watch presentations to discover more about the Personal Development programme and, if it's also of interest, the financial details. If you decide that there is something in it for you, all the information about enrolling is on the site. Or contact me and let’s talk.
In London and other places all over the UK, an increasing number of regular meetings support the monthly delivery of CDs, DVDs and tele-conferences, the online training, etc.
There is no obligation to attend any meetings, they're available as part of the excellent support system. To find out why so many others share my enthusiasm for what Success University offers, and to explore what's in it for you, perhaps we'll talk or meet in the not-too-distant future?
