Clean and Crafty Meetings
This particular training was first delivered for 15 members of a London Adoption Panel in 2010.
There
are, of course, specific outcomes, both predetermined and developed as
the training progresses, and every aspect of the training offers
opportunities to practice techniques that can be put to immediate use
in the workplace.
However, there is no set agenda, no rigid
structure into which delegates must be shoehorned, few case studies and
no role-plays. The latter because everybody has enough real life drama
to contend with, and because work related content of the exercises is
determined by individuals’ engaged in the exercise.
The training is
dynamic and organic, evolving from what is provoked or stimulated by
issues or aspiration that people bring or discover along the way.
Another
fairly unusual aspect of the training is the attention given to
celebrating Diversity by making it an explicit and intrinsic part of
the process, rather than fleeting mention, covert or exclusive.
Every
thing is predicated on the presupposition that every person involved in
the training - including the trainer - is 50% responsible for every
one-to-one, interpersonal transaction.
Crafty events are
provocative, stimulating, can be frustrating and might be inspiring.
Basic assumptions and limiting beliefs will be explored, and that can
be very uncomfortable.
The training is both light-hearted and very
serious and, whatever else, it will add a great deal to your current
repertoire of listening, managing, communicating and influencing skills.
